Activities
Pursuant
to article one of its statute, the Foundation is actively engaged in
promoting and organising historical research, teaching,
documentation, and publication with special attention to the Labour
and Socialist Movement both in Italy and abroad.
Among its editorial activities the Foundation is in charge of three
series of books on historical topics published through Lacaita and
Franco Angeli. The Foundation possesses a collection of documents of
primary importance to scholars, as well as specialized library with
over 65,000 volumes. Both the collection and library are open
to the general public for consultation fifteen hours a week.
Computer-aided systems have also been introduced to facilitate
consultation and foster use by the general public of the Foundation's
documentary resources.
The Foundation pursues its objectives also by actively promoting
studies and organising exhibitions, work-shops, and seminars both
nationally and internationally. Some of the topics run in the past
include: Filippo Turati in European Social Democracy; Political
and Economic Emigration in Italy and Europe; Society and
Politics
in Europe between the 19th and 20th Centuries; Politics and
Society in Italy from 1943 to 1947; Representation of
Interests and Political Representation in Liberal and Fascist Italy;
The Resistance Movement and Didacticism in Italy and Europe; Reform
Culture between the 19h and 20th Centuries.
